Rooted in Bengal, Dedicated to Dignity
Founded with a conviction that no child in rural Bengal should drop out of school, and no family should live in despair when hands can be skilled.
From an Evening Tuition Hut to a Movement
Ujjaljeevan Rural Foundation began in 2018 in a small village near Domkal, Murshidabad. We noticed dozens of bright children dropping out after primary school due to family agricultural debt, and young women having zero avenues for income.
What started as an after-school tuition center for 15 kids grew into a multi-district NGO touching 1,200+ children, training youth in trade crafts, and running 80+ free medical camps across remote Bengal hamlets.
“To empower rural communities in West Bengal through quality remedial education, market-linked vocational training, preventative healthcare, and self-help artisan clusters.”
“A self-reliant rural Bengal where every child completes high school, every mother earns with pride, and no family suffers from lack of basic health access.”
